Rare Relics OK
Yasuo is widely regarded as one of the premier control champions in Path of Champions. His ability to stun and strike enemies allows him to trivialize most encounters, including high-difficulty Nightmares. While his animations and control-oriented playstyle can feel slow to some, his consistency and power are undeniable. He performs exceptionally well at 3 stars with free-to-play relics, making him a high-value investment for all players.
The Unforgiven (Optimal 3-5 Star Setup)
The cornerstone of Yasuo's kit below 6 stars. Upon leveling up, this stuns the entire enemy board, triggering Yasuo's strike ability on every enemy. This often clears the board instantly and swings the tempo irrevocably in your favor.
Essential for consistency. Yasuo is the engine of the deck; without him, the strategy falters. This ensures you draw him early and reduces the cost of 'Steel Tempest' generated by his Champion Spell or GGC.
Stuns the strongest enemy on summon. This provides immediate board control, counts towards his level-up, and triggers his strike ability if he is already leveled or on the board.
Strategy
This build focuses on stalling the game until Yasuo is played, then utilizing the massive swing turn provided by Tempest Blade to clear the board and stabilize.
Ascended Wind (6 Star Configuration)
Provides +1 Starting Mana to deploy Yasuo sooner. The cost increase on recalled units synergizes perfectly with his 6-star power, effectively removing threats from the game permanently.
Remains critical for consistency and spell mana efficiency. Drawing Yasuo is the primary win condition.
Since the 6-star power often clears the board via recalls, Overwhelm ensures that Yasuo and his allies can push lethal damage through without being stalled by chump blockers. Tempest Blade is removed in this build because the 6-star power often triggers his level-up at Round End, wasting the stun effect.
Strategy
At 6 stars, Yasuo shifts from a burst-control champion to a sustained-control engine. The focus is on ramping him out and letting his end-of-round recalls dismantle the opponent's board while Overwhelm pushes for the win.
Mushroom Storm (Fun/Alternative)
Yasuo strikes enemies whenever they are stunned or recalled. Each strike triggers this relic, planting huge numbers of Poison Puffcaps. With a board-wide stun, this can plant lethal amounts of traps in a single turn.
Ensures Yasuo is found and allows for spamming of his champion spell to trigger strikes.
Triggers an immediate strike on summon, planting mushrooms and potentially removing a threat or advancing his level-up condition.
Strategy
This build turns Yasuo into a burn damage engine. It is surprisingly effective against high-health encounters where traditional damage might be slow.
Other Relic Options
A strong alternative to Echoing Spirit for generating a guaranteed stun (Steel Tempest) every round. Highly effective for consistent control.
Yasuo benefits greatly from Fated and Augment, turning him into a massive stat stick with Overwhelm and Challenger to control the board manually.
Constellation
Yasuo's constellation is powerful but changes his optimal loadout significantly at the high end. His 1 and 3-star powers (stunning the strongest enemy) are foundational to his kit. The 4 and 5-star upgrades provide excellent utility and speed.

Follow the Wind
Round Start: If you have the attack token, stun the strongest enemy.
Never Dull
+1 Starting Mana. When an ally strikes, grant it +1|+0
Follow the Wind II
Round Start: Stun the strongest enemy.
Dragon's Rage
When you summon an ally, grant it Fury. It is a Dragon.Review
Grants allies +1|+1 when an enemy is recalled. This allows your board to scale over time, fixing one of Yasuo's weaknesses (low unit stats). It makes the deck more resilient if the game drags on.
Manaflow
Game Start: Get a mana gem.Review
Manaflow (+1 Starting Mana). Extremely valuable for Yasuo, who is a 4-cost champion. This allows him to come down a turn earlier, which is often the difference between stabilizing and taking massive damage.
Typhoon
Round End: Recall Stunned enemies.Review
Round End: Recall all stunned enemies. This is a game-changer that effectively removes the enemy's board every turn. However, it has anti-synergy with the 'Tempest Blade' relic, as the recalls will often trigger his level-up at the end of the round when the stun effect provides no value. Players with this upgrade should transition to 'The Beast Within' or other stat/utility relics.
Gameplay Tips
The Tempest Blade Timing
For non-6-star builds, timing your level-up is crucial. Ideally, you want Yasuo to level up on the enemy's attack turn or at the start of your turn to stun the entire board. This allows you to attack freely or negate a lethal swing. Note that if you upgrade to 6 stars, this relic becomes significantly less effective.
Mulligan Aggressively
Yasuo is the engine, fuel, and wheels of this deck. Without him, you are simply stalling with stuns. Always hard mulligan to find Yasuo in your opening hand. Echoing Spirit is highly recommended to mitigate draw RNG.
Managing Board Space
Yasuo's deck can sometimes struggle with board space due to stuns and recalls not permanently removing units (pre-level up). Be mindful of your bench and try to trade units or use Overwhelm to push damage before the enemy board becomes an impenetrable wall of stunned units.
The Power of Overwhelm
Yasuo clears units very efficiently, but he often lacks the direct Nexus damage to finish games quickly. Relics like The Beast Within or Troll King's Crown are vital for converting his board control into a victory condition, preventing games from stalling out unnecessarily.
