Viktor presents one of the most drastic power curves in the game. At lower star levels (1-3), he is widely considered slow, inconsistent, and underpowered compared to modern champions. However, at 6 stars, he transforms into one of the absolute strongest champions in the game, capable of ending encounters on Turn 1 or 2 through massive stat scaling, keyword generation, and direct nexus burn. He is a high-investment project that rewards dedication with god-like power.
The Glorious Evolution (6-Star Optimal)
Essential for the 6-Star build. It adds 7 copies of Viktor to your deck, which count as 'created' cards. When you play a created Viktor, his 6-Star power triggers, creating a copy of him on the stack, resulting in two Viktors on the board immediately.
Viktor's signature relic. It generates a Hex Core Upgrade every round. With two Viktors on board (via Echoing Spirit strategy) and the 6-Star power duplicating created cards, this results in an avalanche of keywords and Augment triggers.
Generates 'Redoubled Valor' on summon. Since it is a created card, the 6-Star power duplicates the spell when played. With two Viktors on board, you generate two copies of the spell, which become four casts, leading to exponential stat growth.
Strategy
This build capitalizes on Viktor's 6-Star power, which duplicates any created card you play. By using Echoing Spirit, the additional copies of Viktor in your deck are considered 'created.' Playing one summons two Viktors. This doubles your engine: two Hex Core Upgrades per turn, two Redoubled Valors (which then duplicate to four), and double the spell burn triggers. This setup typically ends games on Turn 1 or 2.
The Oath of Zaun (6-Star Alternative)
Shuffles 5 Level 2 champions into the deck. These are created cards, meaning when drawn and played, Viktor's 6-Star power will duplicate them, flooding the board with powerful units.
Still highly recommended to ensure you draw Viktor and to utilize the self-duplication interaction.
Reduces the cost of the champions created by Oath, allowing you to flood the board immediately. The stats provided also help Viktor scale faster.
Strategy
A variant that leans into the 6-Star duplication mechanic by focusing on summoning an army of Level 2 champions rather than buffing Viktor alone. This build is extremely resilient and offers varied gameplay.
Chemtech Control (Pre-Constellation)
Viktor naturally wants to stall and scale. Once you hit 6 mana, this relic doubles all your Hex Core Upgrades and removal spells, allowing you to stabilize and finish the game.
Helps get Viktor on the board earlier if you can trigger Plunder, mitigating his slow startup.
Ensures you have the mana to cast your Hex Core Upgrades and other created spells every turn.
Strategy
For players without 6 stars or Epic relics, Viktor plays as a slower engine-building deck. The goal is to survive the early game, stick Viktor to the board, and use Chemtech Duplicator to rapidly accrue keywords (fishing for Lifesteal and Elusive) to stabilize and win.
Other Relic Options
Grants Challenger, Overwhelm, and Tough. While these keywords are useful, the primary strategic value is removing them from the Hex Core Upgrade RNG pool, making it statistically more likely to roll vital keywords like Lifesteal, Spellshield, or Elusive.
An alternative cost-reduction tool. Combined with the 4-Star power (Spell Burn), this can allow for a Turn 1 Viktor drop if you can trigger Plunder effectively.
Provides mana sustainability, useful for casting the flurry of created spells generated by his kit.
Constellation
Viktor's constellation offers one of the most dramatic power spikes in the game. His base 3-star form is widely considered outdated and slow for modern high-difficulty content. His upgrades transform him from a struggling engine builder into a premier combo-kill champion.

March of the Machines

Spell Burn
When you play a spell, deal 1 to the enemy Nexus.Review
Spell Burn: Deal 1 to the enemy Nexus when you play a spell. This is a critical upgrade that provides Viktor with a secondary win condition (burn damage) and accelerates his clock significantly. It allows him to chip down opponents while digging for his primary win condition.
Manaflow
Game Start: Get a mana gem.
Power Surge
When you play a created spell or unit, copy it.Review
Glorious Evolution: When you play a created card, create a copy of it in hand (costing 0 or reduced cost depending on patch notes/implementation specifics, but effectively doubling output). This is a game-breaking upgrade. It synergizes perfectly with Echoing Spirit to clone champions, doubles outcome of Oath of the Guardians, and turns single spell casts into chain reactions. This star alone moves him from B-Tier to S-Tier.
Gameplay Tips
The Echoing Spirit Interaction
If you possess the Echoing Spirit relic and have unlocked Viktor's 6-Star power, prioritizing playing the created copies of Viktor (added to your deck by the relic) is paramount. The 6-Star power duplicates created cards when played. A Viktor from Echoing Spirit counts as created, so playing him will trigger the power, putting a second Viktor onto the stack. This results in two Viktors on board for the price of one, instantly doubling your engine output.
Keyword Management
Viktor's survivability often hinges on rolling specific keywords from his Hex Core Upgrades. Lifesteal is the most coveted for recovery, followed by Spellshield for protection and Elusive for finishing games. If you are struggling to survive, prioritize casting Hex Cores to find Lifesteal before attacking. Using relics like Full Build can remove Challenger, Overwhelm, and Tough from the random pool, increasing your odds of hitting the defensive keywords you need.
Hand Size Management
At high power levels (especially 6-Star), Viktor generates an immense number of cards. Between the Ballistic Bot's Ignitions, doubled spells from his constellation, and relic outputs, your hand can easily become full. Be mindful of play order to avoid burning key cards (like your Hex Core Upgrades) due to overdrawing. Prioritize playing fleeting cards or low-cost created cards to keep hand space open.
The Spell Burn Win Condition
With his 4-Star power unlocked, every spell cast deals damage to the enemy Nexus. In difficult encounters where attacking is dangerous (e.g., against opponents with massive stats or stun mechanics), you can pivot to a burn strategy. Focus on drafting cheap, spammable spells to whittle the opponent down without ever needing to strike.
