Azir

High Investment Required
Epic Relics
While acceptable at lower star levels, Azir transforms into one of the game's premier powerhouses at 6 stars. His unique mechanics allow for some of the most broken interactions in Path of Champions, justifying the high investment.
The Ascended Host (C6 Optimized)
The cornerstone of Azir's strongest build. Due to his 6-star power, the copies of Nasus and Renekton created in your deck inherit this relic. When you play them, they also trigger Oath, shuffling even more Level 2 champions into your deck and doubling their stats.
Reduces the cost of all champions in your deck (including the Oath-created ones) and buffs their stats. Since this item is shared with Nasus and Renekton via the 6-star power, the cost reduction stacks, often allowing you to play your entire hand of champions on Turn 1.
A second Star Gem maximizes cost reduction, ensuring that even expensive champions generated by Oath can be played immediately for 0 mana.
Strategy
This build leverages Azir's 6-star item sharing to create a loop of champion generation. By playing Azir, Nasus, or Renekton, you flood the board with over-statted Level 2 champions while simultaneously reducing their costs to zero. It is currently considered his strongest setup.
Desert's Wrath (General / Pre-C6)
Allows Azir to consume his Sand Soldiers (or other allies) to grow his stats rapidly. This solves board space issues and ensures Azir becomes a massive threat himself.
Grants Overwhelm to your entire board. Since Azir and his Sand Soldiers can generate wide boards quickly, giving them all Overwhelm ensures damage pushes through chump blockers.
Provides reliability by drawing cards and granting an Epic item. Since Azir's deck can sometimes struggle with consistency before the Emperor's Deck comes online, this helps smooth out the early game.
Strategy
A more traditional playstyle focusing on board presence and stat growth. Azir eats his disposable soldiers to become a carry, while The Beast Within ensures the swarm of units connects with the enemy Nexus.
Budget Emperor
Essential for managing board space and transferring stats from temporary Sand Soldiers to Azir.
Rallying upon leveling up (restoring the Sun Disc) allows for a devastating lethal turn, especially given the high attack power of the Emperor's Deck units or a grown Azir.
Protects Azir from removal, ensuring he stays on the board to generate value.
Strategy
This build utilizes rare relics to mimic the scaling power of epic builds. Focus on flipping the Sun Disc to trigger Crownguard for a game-ending attack.
Other Relic Options
Provides cost reduction and advances the Sun Disc. While flavorful, it is generally outclassed by the Oath/Star Gem combo at 6 stars, but decent for speeding up the flip.
Synergizes with the constant summoning of 1-cost Sand Soldiers to deal direct Nexus damage. Effective, but less explosive than the Oath build.
Allows Azir to attack safely to generate soldiers without risking death against larger blockers.
Constellation
Azir's constellation offers a distinct power curve. His early stars focus on his traditional Sand Soldier gameplay, while his 6-star power fundamentally changes his identity into a champion-centric combo engine.

Glory of the Sands
Game Start: Summon a Buried Sun Disc. Advance it 1 round whenever you summon a unit.
Emperor's Assault
+1 Starting Mana. Each round, when you summon your second unit, grant allies +1|+1.Review
Standard +1 Starting Mana. Essential for early tempo.
Glory of the Sands II
Game Start: Summon a Buried Sun Disc. Advance it 1 round whenever you summon a unit or landmark. When you Restore the Sun Disc, refill your mana.Review
Focuses on the Sun Disc and Sand Soldiers. Solid foundation, but can feel slow against aggressive Nightmare adventures.
Sandstone Scout
Game Start: Summon a Rock Hopper.
Emperor's Assault II
+2 Starting Mana. Each round, when you summon your second unit, grant allies +2|+2.Review
Upgraded Manaflow. Provides +1 Starting Mana and grants significant stat buffs (+2/+2) to Sand Soldiers, making them actual threats rather than just chump blockers.
Shurima's Legacy
Game Start: Create a Renekton and a Nasus in your deck, then grant all of Azir's items to other champions in your deck and hand.Review
The game changer. Adds Nasus and Renekton to your deck and, crucially, shares all of Azir's items with every champion in your deck at Game Start. This enables broken interactions with relics like Oath of the Guardians and Star Gem, turning Azir into an S-tier powerhouse.
Gameplay Tips
The Emperor's Deck
When Azir ascends (level 3), your deck is replaced by the Emperor's Deck. These cards are incredibly powerful but limited in number. Be mindful of decking out in longer encounters, although most games should end quickly once you have access to these cards.
Oath of the Guardians Interaction
At 6 stars, Azir's item sharing ability applies to the Nasus and Renekton he creates. If Azir holds Oath of the Guardians, Nasus and Renekton effectively hold it too. Playing any of them will trigger the shuffle effect, filling your deck with doubled-stat Level 2 champions. Combined with Star Gem, these champions become free or extremely cheap to play.
Board Space and Ephemerals
Azir generates a lot of units. Sand Soldiers are Ephemeral, meaning they die at round end or after striking. Use this to your advantage to clear board space for more valuable units or champion summons. Do not use relics that grant Ephemeral copies (like Spectral Scissors) unless you have a way to manage the board overflow.
